Questions

How accurate is it?

Provenance-mark reading (C2PA) is highly reliable — it's cryptographic metadata, not guessing. Statistical detection of unmarked content is good but imperfect, which is why every label carries a confidence score and weak signals are shown as "unverified" rather than a false verdict.

Does it slow down my browsing or read my private data?

Scanning is throttled and cached, so pages load normally. Content is analyzed in memory and never stored; we don't track your browsing history.

Why does this matter now?

From August 2026, the EU AI Act requires AI-generated content to carry machine-readable marks. SlopRadar reads those marks — and flags the content that should be marked but isn't.

How does video scanning work? Do I need to pause the video?

No pausing needed. When you scan a post with a video, SlopRadar checks the video's provenance metadata (C2PA marks that AI tools must embed) and analyzes its preview frame. Full frame-by-frame deepfake analysis for longer videos is coming to Pro. Since AI-generated video is typically synthetic in every frame, a marked file or a synthetic preview frame is a strong signal on its own.

Which browsers are supported?

Chrome, Brave and Edge at launch — one build covers all Chromium browsers. Firefox is next on the roadmap, and Safari after that. Tell us on the waitlist which one you need.
